| The city of Alice operates under a home rule charter
adopted in 1949, that authorizes the council-manager
form of municipal government. The city council is
composed of a mayor and four councilmembers who
are elected at large for non-staggered two-year
terms. The council is charged with the responsibilities
of enacting legislation, adopting the budget, setting
the tax rate, setting policy guidelines, and appointing
the city manager. |
- City Council Meetings: 2nd & 4th Thursdays of every month at 6:30 p.m.
- City Manager Report Column (Alice Echo-News Journal): 1st Wednesday of every month.
- City Offices will be closed Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th, 2008.
- Monday's trash to be picked up on Tuesday.
- Tuesday's trash to be picked up on Wednesday.
- Thursday and Friday's trash will be regular pick-up days.
- NO LIGHT DEBRIS pick-up on Wednesday, May 28th, of this week.
